International conference to mark Hans-Werner Sinn’s sixtieth birthday

Two Nobel Laureates and numerous top economists as guests in Munich

To mark Professor Hans-Werner Sinn’s sixtieth birthday, the Economics Faculty of the University of Munich (LMU) and the Ifo Institute for Economic Research are hosting an international conference in the Munich Residenz on 25 April 2008. Under the topic "Economic Policy in the Presence of Globalisation", top international economists will discuss current demands on economic-policy in the age of globalisation: welfare state, tax competition, European integration, education and global climate change. Two Nobel Laureates, James J. Heckman and Sir James Mirrlees, are invited speakers. The conference will be opened by Minister of State, Eberhard Sinner, and LMU President Bernd Huber, along with Monika Schnitzer and Assaf Razin. The Laudatio will be delivered by Georg Milbradt, Minister-President of the Free State of Saxony.
